Chris has over 30 years of experience as a martial arts instructor helping women move through hesitation, self-doubt, and uncertainty. Now as a professional, award winning, boudoir photographer, that same calm, grounded presence carries into every boudoir session he does.
You won’t be left wondering what to do. You’ll be guided—step by step,—into natural movement, subtle expression, and moments that feel like you.
Add in a sprinkle of humor, and somewhere between the guided directions and the laughter is where the real images happen.
Outside the studio, Chris is more introverted than most people expect. After long days working with people, he tends to recharge by unplugging and disappearing into a story for a while. Getting lost in a good book, sci-fi series, going for a long motorcycle ride, or diving into a late-night RPG game.
His days are a mix of structure and flexibility—handling “the todo list” when needed, and letting things slow down when they don’t.
And no matter what he’s doing, most of it is shared with Heidi—his partner in business, life, and even how he chooses to unwind.

Heidi is the other half of Primal Soul, in life and in business. She handles the parts of this work that do not show up in a photograph: the scheduling, the logistics, the hundred small details that let a session feel effortless from the client’s side. She is also on the floor at every single shoot, wardrobe in hand, making sure every woman who walks through the door feels steady before the camera ever comes out.
Off the clock, Heidi recharges in the quiet. A ride with Chris down the backroads on the Harley, lunch somewhere with a view of the water, an evening on the patio with the fire pit going and nothing on the calendar. She describes herself as an introverted extrovert, someone who loves getting out, trying a new restaurant or catching live music, but who also knows exactly when it is time to go home and recharge for a few days. Cooking, baking, and a good book are usually how she gets there.
She brings a quiet kind of energy into a room, more of a steady presence than a loud one, and it shows in how often people, even strangers, find themselves opening up to her. Friends come to her when they need to vent or need real advice. She also happens to know her way around basic car maintenance and light construction work, which tends to surprise people who meet her in a professional setting first. Chris calls her a Construction Barbie. She will not correct him.
Ask her about comfort food and she will say homemade apple crisp, chocolate chip cookies, and a basket of Texas Roadhouse rolls. Ask her about a perfect day and she will tell you it starts with no schedule at all, just Chris, the open road, and wherever the day decides to take them.
MAKEUP ARTIST
Savanna has been doing hair and makeup for nearly twenty years. She found this work in her early twenties and never looked back. What started as an interest in beauty became something bigger once she realized what her chair could actually do for the woman sitting in it.
Her approach starts with listening. If you tell her you don’t wear much makeup, she builds something soft and natural, a look that enhances what is already there instead of covering it up. If you want more drama, she gives you that too, always polished, always still you. Camera-ready makeup is not about piling more on. It is about applying it differently, so it holds up under studio lighting and reads beautifully from every angle.
Most clients walk into her chair a little nervous. Most of them leave surprised by how at ease they feel, and by how much they still look like themselves, just clearer somehow. She keeps the room relaxed. She talks if you want to talk. She lets you sit in silence if that is what you need instead. There is no judgment in her chair, and she means that literally. You do not need to know anything about makeup or arrive with any particular kind of confidence. She meets you exactly where you are.
Her favorite moment is always the same one. That first look in the mirror, right before the session starts, when something in a client’s face changes. Not because she added anything. Because she got to be the one standing there when a woman recognized herself.
