Here’s something worth knowing while you wait. A 2004 study out of NC State University’s College of Textiles, built from 3D body scans of more than 6,000 women, found that the hourglass shape, the proportions most associated with fashion and media, occurs in only about 8% of women, while the most common natural body shape, straighter proportions without a pronounced waist, is closer to 46%. The image most of us have been measuring ourselves against was never the norm to begin with. It was always the exception.
Bodies change. They always have. Waiting for a version of yourself that feels finished means waiting for something that was never going to arrive, because there isn’t a finished version. There is only the one you have today, and it has never needed permission to be worth this.

Work, stress, the day to day, it wears down a part of most women long before they notice it’s gone. That does not mean it disappeared. It means it has not had room to show up in a while.
