How much time does the session actually include?

A rushed session leaves little room to settle in, and settling in is where the images that actually feel like you tend to come from. Ask how much shoot time is included, and whether you’re the only client on the schedule that day or one of several booked back to back. At Primal Soul, we only book one client a day, so the entire day is yours. No one else is coming in before or after you, and nothing about your time here is rushed to make room for the next appointment.

Who’s doing your hair and makeup, and what’s included?

Ask specifically whether a licensed makeup artist is part of your session, not just implied, actually confirmed. That’s a real difference in how your images turn out, and it’s worth knowing upfront rather than assuming it’s standard.

What actually happens to your images before you see them?

Ask this directly, a lot gets assumed here that shouldn’t be. At Primal Soul, basic editing, cropping, white balance, simple skin smoothing, happens during your lunch break, the same day, so what you see at your reveal is already clean and ready to view, not a rough pull straight off the camera. That’s part of what makes a same-day reveal possible at all. Ask any studio you’re considering whether their reveal happens the same day, and if so, what you’re actually seeing when it does.

What are you actually paying for?

Ask directly how pricing works. Some studios charge for session time itself. Others, including us, let you choose only the images you actually love rather than paying for time in a chair. Neither model is inherently better, but you should know which one you’re agreeing to before you book.

What happens to your images after the session?

Ask about the actual print materials, album construction, paper quality, how wall art is finished and protected. These are physical objects meant to last, and the print quality behind them varies a lot more than people expect.
