A little planning goes a long way toward making your session with us feel easy instead of rushed. None of this is complicated. It’s mostly a matter of knowing what to think about ahead of time.
Lock in your outfits about 30 days out.
Give yourself roughly a month before your shoot to have your outfits decided. You’re not doing this alone, though. Every session includes a complimentary wardrobe consultation with us, so you’ll have real guidance before you’re standing in front of your closet wondering what to bring.
Uneven tan lines are hard to edit out.
A natural tan looks beautiful on camera. Tan lines are trickier, since they’re difficult to soften in editing after the fact. If you’re planning to tan before your session, give yourself three to four weeks of lead time and aim for even coverage rather than a last-minute spray tan, which can sometimes leave residue or unevenness that shows up more than expected under studio lighting.
Timing around your cycle is worth a look at your calendar.
This one’s simple and practical, not a big deal to talk about. Some women feel more at ease scheduling their session outside their cycle, since posing and movement can feel more comfortable without that added factor in the mix. Not everyone needs to plan around this, comfort levels vary, but it’s worth a glance at your calendar when you’re picking a date. If your timing shifts unexpectedly, just let us know and we’ll work with you on rescheduling.

Keep the whole day clear, not just the session itself.
This isn’t a quick appointment. When you book with us, you’re spending the day with us, not just an hour or two. Between your session and your Same-Day Reveal, there’s a lunch break, usually around two hours, sometimes a little more, where you’re free to head out and grab a bite nearby.
Think of that time as part of the day, not a gap in it. It’s not a window to squeeze in errands or catch up on your list. It’s a chance to breathe, get something to eat, refresh a little, and let the excitement build for what’s coming when you walk back in to see your photos. This whole day is about you, and that includes the pause in the middle of it.
We built it this way on purpose. You’re the only client on our schedule that day. Nothing about your time here is squeezed in around someone else’s session, so come in expecting to give the whole day to yourself, not just the hour in front of the camera.

When you’re ready
None of this needs to be perfect. These are just a few small things worth thinking about ahead of time so the day itself has room to breathe. If you have questions about timing or prep, that’s exactly what a Discovery Call is for.
