Planning a Boudoir Album as a Wedding Day Gift: Timeline and Logistics

If you’re planning to give your groom a boudoir album as part of your wedding day, timing matters more than most brides expect. Here’s how to actually plan it so it’s ready when you need it, not something you’re scrambling to finish the week of.

Book your session with real lead time.

Albums take time to design and produce well, ours are hand-bound and sourced from Portugal, not a same-week print job. As a general rule, aim to have your session done at least three to four months before your wedding date. That gives enough room for your Same-Day Reveal, image selection, album design, a proof review, and production, without anything feeling rushed at the end.

Session timing is separate from wedding prep, and that’s on purpose.

A lot of brides try to fold this into an already packed pre-wedding season, dress fittings, venue walk-throughs, engagement photos. We’d actually recommend the opposite. Treat your session as its own separate day, not one more item stacked onto wedding planning. You’ll get more out of it, and it removes one more thing competing for your attention in the final stretch before the wedding.

Give yourself a buffer before you actually need it.

Even with efficient production, plan for the album to be ready two to three weeks before your wedding date at the earliest, not the week before. Life happens, and a buffer means one less thing to worry about in the final days before the wedding.

Choosing images and designing the album is a real step, not an afterthought.

After your Same-Day Reveal, you’ll have your full gallery in the Private Photo Gallery. From there, we work with you to select which images go into the album itself, this is usually a smaller, more curated set than your full gallery. Layout, pacing, and cover material are all part of that conversation, not decided for you without input.

When you’re ready

If you’re working backward from a wedding date and want to know what timeline actually makes sense for your situation, that’s exactly what a Discovery Call is for. Bring your date, and we’ll map out what needs to happen and when.
